SHROUD OF TURING
The latest addition to the Nocturne Alchemy Platform is a 1U, 16-bit shift register sequencer inspired by the wildly popular Turing Machine. It generates pseudo-random CV sequences that can lock into repeating patterns or evolve freely over time. What sets it apart is a built-in keyboard for defining custom scales, with six save slots for instant recall during performance as well as sequence sculpting tools like pattern rotation, bit editing, and loop reset so you can shape your phrases in real time. Whether you're looking for a source of happy accidents, a tool for controlled generative composition, or a compact sequencer that speaks in scales, the Shroud of Turing bridges the gap between chaos and musicality.

Each module within the Nocturne Alchemy Platform shares the same robust Arduino-based hardware, allowing you to effortlessly swap functionalities through our intuitive web firmware loader. By purchasing one module, you gain access to the full range of available firmwares, including our current creations, Shroud of Turing, Slight of Hand, Seventh Summoner, and the Arp Of Darkness, as well as others planned for future release!
Arp of Darkness
Monophonic, buffer-based, inspiration, "arpeggiator" with multiple playback modes, state recall, and a golden-ratio twist.
Seventh Summoner
Performance Sequencer with save/recall of six 32-note patterns, five playback modes and a meta-sequencer to control them all.
Shroud of Turing
Turing Machine-inspired performance-based random sequencer with quantization, user presets, and scale save/recall.

Musician-Designed
Each module in the collection was born out of creative need and inspired by performance demands.
Hand-Built
An instrument should have a soul. What better way to impart that energy than with human touch, and attention to detail?
Hand-Calibrated
Accuracy matters but it takes time. That's time well spent when you want to put quality instruments in artists hands.
Performance-Tested
Quality assurance goes beyond a multi-meter. It's about touch, feel, and playability in a performance environment.
About Us
Who are we? Well, at FlatSix Modular, "we" is just me... For now, anyway. Hi. My name is Sean. I am a lifelong creative, musician, taker-apart-of-things, and curious explorer. I have always been obsessed with making music, and fascinated by the tools which people around the world have chosen to do the same since the dawn of history.
Early in life, as I was studying the discipline of musicology, music was broadly defined for me as "Humanly organized sound." Such a wide-open definition. So many possibilities. It shaped me, and my approach to music, and opened my mind to the thought that literally ANYTHING could be a musical instrument.
That began my personal journey of collecting instruments from around the world, and eventually, building my own. Once I discovered the Eurorack community, I never looked back. Now it's my turn to offer up my creations to the community that inspired me. That's what this is all about.
