Arp Of Darkness
Nocturne Alchemy Platform - Free Swappable Firmwares
The Arp Of Darkness is an arpeggiator with a unique twist: It's designed to create dynamic and evolving note sequences by utilizing a buffer approach similar to a Turing Machine or Shift Register. Unlike traditional arpeggiators, which typically play chords as individual notes in a predefined pattern, this module allows you to enter notes sequentially into a buffer of variable length, (from 3 up to 16 notes) and play it back using 6 playback modes (Forward, Backward, Exclusive Pingpong, Inclusive Pingpong, Golden Ratio and Random) with cycle select, direct select, (queued & immediate) and reset.
Golden Ratio Mode? Yes, it's new in firmware v.1.3.1 and is an incredibly musical arpeggiation mode based on the Golden Ratio / Fibonacci Sequence. (See the video walkthrough for more.)
Saving & loading your buffer - New in firmware v1.3.2, users can save their existing buffer making it persistent through power cycling, and reload it on the flay at any time. Find a cool combo of notes? Save it on the fly, then evolve it over time into something completely diffferent, and then load your original sequence back in to restate a musical thought.
This module is a part of the Nocturne Alchemy Platform - a flexible eurorack module series that shares the same robust Arduino-based hardware, allowing one to effortlessly swap firmware and functionalities through an intuitive web loader. By purchasing one module, you gain access to a full range of freely available firmwares, including the other current creations, Slight of Hand and Arp Of Darkness, as well as more planned for future release! It's like getting multiple modules for the price of just one!
