Shadow Coven - Mousai
Summon the muse.

The Mousai. Three sisters, hand in hand, spinning around a central fire. Hypnotic shadow dancers with light in their eyes. And suddenly you realize that inspiration is not earned… It's bestowed… It's a gift.
The earliest Greek myths quietly speak of Aoide, Melete, and Mneme: song, contemplation, and memory. They were the source. Musicians didn't create music alone. The Mousai whispered it to them.
Enter the Shadow Coven — Mousai, a 3U Eurorack module built from three of its popular 1U siblings, designed to do the same.
Seventh Summoner, Shroud Of Turing, and Arp Of Darkness. A meta-sequencer, a generative shift register, and a buffer-based arpeggiator, forged together in a single 3U rack. You give each module a small gesture: a phrase, a scale, a handful of notes. Each hands you back arrangements you wouldn't have written alone. Golden Ratio traversals. Probability sweeps. Meta-sequenced song structures you might not have seen coming. Three sisters of music, hand-in-hand channeling that moment like lightning… Creation.
It's an inspiration engine.
One rack. One power slot. Three complete instruments.
Each module is fully independent. Three clock inputs, three CV outputs, three separate voices, all mounted in a custom bracket that fits into a single 3U slot at a true 26HP. No overhang. No wasted space. A daisy-chain power harness lets all three share a single bus board slot, drawing a combined 120mA on +12V. That's roughly the power of one mid-size effect module for three complete instruments.
Flexible by design
The Mousai lives in 3U, but it isn't locked there. Every module inside is a standard 1U Intellijel-format Nocturne Alchemy Platform module, and can be pulled out of the bracket at any time to live in a 1U row on its own. Take one to a smaller case for travel. Rearrange the three vertically in the bracket (top, middle, bottom) to match your patching flow. Swap a panel finish. Flash a different firmware. Any module in the Nocturne Alchemy Platform can slide into any bay of the Mousai bracket, in any order, with any firmware you like. Your Coven, your ritual.
Seventh Summoner
The sister of memory.
A 1U performance sequencer that brings the flexibility of a full-featured sequencer into a compact form. Six 32-note sequences, all recallable on the fly. And then, the Summoner: a meta-sequencing layer that chains sequences together with all their manipulations intact. Complex, evolving song structure, no laptop required.
Top features:
- 16-step Summoner meta-sequencer chains six sequences, recording playback mode, transposition, and octave shift
- Six independent 32-note sequences, all saved to EEPROM
- Five playback modes (Forward, Backward, Ping-pong, Golden Ratio, Random) with queued and immediate direct-select
- Real-time clock division (1, 2, 4, 8) and slew/portamento via potentiometer
- Bootable Slight Of Hand CV Keyboard mode
Shroud Of Turing
The sister of contemplation.
A 16-bit generative shift register inspired by the Turing Machine, reimagined with a built-in musical quantizer that snaps output to custom scales you build one note at a time. Sweep the probability knob from locked loops to fully generative motion. Snapshot entire performances (pattern, scale, length, range, and slew) to instantly recall a complete rig, even across power cycles.
Top features:
- 16-bit shift register with real-time probability control, sweeping from locked repeating loops to fully generative motion
- Built-in musical quantizer with 6 custom scale slots, defined and edited from the onboard keyboard on the fly
- Five full machine-state save/recall slots (black keys C#–A#) snapshot pattern, scale, sequence length, voltage range, voltage window, and slew for instant recall
- Variable loop length (3 to 16 steps), adjustable output range (1 to 4 octaves), pattern rotation, and manual bit editing
- Bootable Slight Of Hand CV Keyboard mode
Arp Of Darkness
The sister of song.
A buffer-based arpeggiator with a unique twist. Notes enter a shift-register-style buffer, then play back in six modes, including Golden Ratio, a φ-based traversal that feels both intentional and organic. Bridges the gap between chaos and musicality, and rewards a musician's imperfect memory with the illusion of randomness.
Top features:
- Buffer-based arpeggiator that lets you build sequences of 3 to 16 notes on the fly
- Six playback modes including Golden Ratio, a φ-based (Fibonacci) traversal
- Remix Buffer shuffles note order on demand; Auto-Remix reshuffles every 2, 4, or 8 loops automatically
- Save/load buffers to EEPROM for instant pattern recall
- Bootable Slight Of Hand CV Keyboard mode
Every Shadow Coven — Mousai includes
- Three pre-calibrated modules, installed in the order of your choosing
- 3U mounting bracket
- Daisy-chain power harness (one bus board slot powers all three)
- Four M3 mounting screws
- USB-C to USB-Mini adapter, so you can flash new firmware with a modern USB-C cable
- Free shipping in the U.S only but happy to ship globally
- Hand-built and hand-calibrated in Houston, Texas
Every module on the Nocturne Alchemy Platform shares the same robust Arduino-based hardware, so you can swap firmware between any of them at any time using our free web firmware loader. Buy the Mousai, and you're not just getting three modules. You're getting access to the entire platform's firmware library. It's like getting multiple modules for the price of just one.
